From a Birth Mother’s Point of View…
An unplanned pregnancy today has many options that were not available in years past. There is now no such thing as an unwanted baby; because today there are many, many couples looking to adopt. There may be twenty or more couples wishing to adopt for each baby placed for adoption. Due to a variety of reasons that can affect their ability to conceive, many of these couples cannot have biological children of their own and are very eager to adopt and provide a safe and loving environment. Most of these couples that wish to adopt are well educated and have an excellent income. Their children will go to college and be successful in life. They will have every advantage possible.
Homeless or Unemployed with an Unplanned Pregnancy
Are you pregnant and homeless? Are you pregnant and in need of financial support? Are you wondering how you will take care of your new baby? If you are pregnant and considering adoption we can help. It is important to recognize that the stigma of being unemployed with an unplanned pregnancy is a thing of the past. There are many adopting couples who will be glad to help if you are pregnant and considering an adoption. These are usually couples in their 30s and 40s who have been very successful in life but were unable to have children. And they recognize that helping you is helping the baby they wish to adopt. They expect to help you and will do it willingly. Even if your pregnancy is complicated with drug issues, we have couples that wish to adopt your baby and help you get back on your feet afterward. We also have couples that will take a baby of any race or mixture of races. You are giving them the gift of life and they will appreciate it as long as they live. We, at A Birthmother’s Choice, will support you each step of the way, working to make sure your physical and mental health needs are being met.
I am pregnant and homeless, what can I do?
The laws regarding expenses paid to birth mothers that are pregnant and homeless vary from state to state. The team at A Birthmother’s Choice know the laws regarding housing for homeless pregnant mothers and are careful to follow them. If necessary we have birthmother housing in several states that allow expenses, and we can arrange for you to travel to one of these apartments. If you have children, you can bring them and your boyfriend or husband can even come. You will enjoy your own apartment.
I am pregnant and unable to care for myself, what can I do?
If you cannot travel then we can find an adoptive couple in an adoption friendly state and use the laws and resources to pay for your birthmother housing and financial support. Normally, a birth mother’s financial support includes rent, food, utilities, and walking around money. Of course, the adoptive couple will gladly pay for all your medical expenses as they want to make sure you and the baby have the best care possible.
Housing & Financial Support for Birth Mothers
A Birthmother’s Choice works with a number of adoption attorneys and adoption agencies all over the country. Many birth mothers we work with are glad to go to one of the four places where we can provide a home away from home for them and /or members of their family. It gives them the opportunity to relocate away from family members or friends who are against their adoption plan and know that they have a safe and secure location to await the arrival of their baby.
Our adoption staff in these locations will take you grocery shopping and to the doctor and even throw in some fun for you or you and the family. If you are pregnant and considering adoption all your expenses will be taken care of. You will get a chance to choose and then meet the couple you wish to adopt your baby. We always do our best to find just the right couple for you—the one you want to raise your baby. If you want, after the adoption you can arrange with the adopting couple to get regular updates on how your baby is doing. They will send you photos and many will make arrangements for you to visit your baby. And you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your baby is well taken care of.
Find Free Housing & Financial Support for Birth Mothers
The first step in the adoption process is to give us a call and ask any questions you have while we fill out a brief questionnaire. Then we will assign one of our friendly, caring caseworkers. After that, you will contact your doctor and have him/her send us a pregnancy verification. Next step is a longer questionnaire that tells us exactly what you want to get out of your adoption. It also tells us exactly what kind of adoptive couple you are looking for. Don’t worry, your caseworker will help you each step of the way. Our next job is to find just the right couple and set up a conference call between you, your caseworker and the adoptive couple.
How do I apply and qualify for free housing and financial support near me?
If everything clicks—and it usually does—then you will meet with an adoption agency worker or attorney to make arrangements to receive whatever financial support you need. Or if you want to travel to birthmother housing, we will make those arrangements. From that point forward we encourage you to build a close relationship with the adopting couple. After delivery and signing the surrenders, we want to encourage you to keep up the relationship with the adopting couple if that is what you want.
If you are homeless and pregnant and considering adoption please contact us anytime for help. We ready to answer your questions about the adoption process and provide you with the support you need. And don’t worry, your talks with us will be kept confidential.
